A few posts back, I mentioned we were still waiting to hear back on Ken's grad school application. (April 15th is the official date we should know by) We are still waiting - but know where we're at in the process.
Ken spoke with the associate director of the program he applied to, and it turns out, Ken is "on hold." This is good, though I think initially felt a little discouraging. Turns out Ken is in the maybe category. ;) There were over 1,000 applicants for this program, and they can only offer 75 positions. Over half of those applicants were international students too. So, turns out about 40 of those slots have already been filled, and the remaining positions have been offered--- though they usually expect about 1/2 those offers to materialize. Which means, Ken may fill one of the last few slots, but prior to being selected for the interview process, there's a little bit more leg work involved. They want to know more about him, so he is now beginning round two of the statement-of-purpose process and a few other odds n' ends. All needing to be in asap, as time is of the essence. Your prayers are much appreciated & coveted. Can't tell you how much those have meant & the support we've felt from family & dear friends. Love you all!

hey! any updates yet? when does ken have to have his new paper to them by? is he feeling stressed or okay about all of it?
