My Mom is amazing. She really is. We don't know any other woman who can make a holiday -- any holiday! :) -- so festive & special. Whenever annual holidays approach (be it Christmas, Valentine's Day, St. Patty's, Easter, 4th of July,.. you get the idea), she plans a fun, themed meal for the family. Growing up she did this, and now that she has grandkids, she loves doing it all the more! We had a super fun afternoon with my parents -- a lunch family "date" with them at their house. I am so blessed to have the memories I do with my parents, and doubly blessed to get to see the love they pour out abundantly on our kids. Isn't celebrating love, the essence of Valentine's Day? We are celebrating... the love of family, friends, community --- and especially that of Christ in our lives. Happy Heart Day! :)
P.S. We feel spoiled! The kids are spending the night at Nana & Grandpa's house tonight, then at my parents' tomorrow night. Whatever shall we do? hah! Actually, we are headed for a fun time house-hunting.... stay tuned for the verdict on that. ;)
