A bit of a head case ;)

Maybe this is common ground for many families - but it seems we've got one child who is more prone to injury/accident than the others.  In our case, dear Mags has by far, had the most scares.  When she was born, she had a hematoma (not even sure how to spell that)... basically a big pool of blood that welled in her brain and eventually went away.  But initially, the pediatrician scared us half to death telling us it was the worst case he'd ever seen (and he was nearing retirement in the field!) and we needed to get her over to the ER right away. While there & going through several more tests, it was determined she was going to be fine, no need to stay in the hospital, and we'd just keep a close watch.  Fast forward, and when she was two, she got knocked over at Huckleberry's bistro, splicing her lower lip open & creating what nurses described (quite a meatball mouth) with all the trauma there.  Wrap her up in sheets in the ER, have her sweating & screaming buckets bleeding everywhere, and an ever-so-careful-and-patient doc on call at the ER who stitched her up.  The following year, she took a tumble into the window well, getting a massive goose egg on her head and complete praise to God, she survived that without any incident too.  Earlier this year in our first week here, she was recovering from a bad viral bug that necessitated another ER visit.  Then comes this week, just a simple dash of excitement down the tiled-floor-hallway to greet Logan who was just waking up from a nap, she slips and smacks her head hard on the tile, then body-momentum crashes her into the wall.  Almost instantly, she was not herself and wanting to crawl into bed in the fetal position, telling us how much her head hurt & her tummy too.  Then, "I'm going to throw up!  I'm going to throw up!".. several races to the bathroom, and then the vomiting sessions began.  So, I loaded her up and we raced into the ER where they confirmed she had a concussion, ran more tests including a CT scan to check for internal bleeding, and when it was decided she was clear from internal bleeding or damage, we were sent home.  All in all, a very scary ordeal, but here we are now several days later & while she still has bouts of nausea & has some meds for that this week, she hasn't thrown up since the night home from the hospital.  We have felt totally covered in peace & felt/heard the prayers of many of you.  THANKS SO MUCH!!!   Goodness gracious though, that girl is one tough cookie & poor thing has endured a lot of ER visits.  So thankful she is doing well & has returned to her happy, energetic, spunky & defiant self. :)   No pun intended, but perhaps God has made her thick headed for good reason. :)  And Mags, if you read this one day, do know how much we utterly & completely love you to pieces!?!!.. wouldn't change anything about the way God has made & fashioned you, Sweet Girl!  We love you beyond words, and we are so excited to see how God grows you in life and are honored to be a part of the incredible story He is writing in on your heart! :)  So, so, sooooo glad you are ok baby girl!!
