The Makings for a Nurturing & Wonderful Husband/Dad!

There, there... ;)

Making sure he feeds the baby her bottle

Take a look at the shoes! ;) haha. Who'd have known? (We were up visiting Belinda for her birthday & he was playing in Meredith's room -- but managed to snag these shoes to wear as he worked in the kitchen. Oh my....) :) HA!

The kids cookin' up something good...

Some parents might feel like their little boy's manhood is being threatened if he enjoys playing with "girl" things - but not us!... we have totally loved watching Jack's domestic & nurturing side shine through when he's given the opportunity. He loves to play with little kitchenettes, loves to take the stainless steamer cup (for espresso) and pretend to stir it with a mixing spoon, likes to "help" me when I'm baking/cooking -- to the extent I let him. (haha, which means watching, mostly, or mixing his own pretend stuff in another bowl right next to me.) And, this past week his speech therapist came over & brought a fun bag of toys with her, in which he found a little baby doll with a fake bottle of milk. He was totally intrigued and wanted to hold the baby & feed her the bottle. Sooooo sweet to watch! He also loves to play with doll houses, but even Ken admits to enjoying that when he was a kid too. ;) It's also been heart warming like nothing else to watch how good he can be with Maggie. He really loves her, and she just adores him. Single handedly, Jack makes her laugh more than any of us in the family. Ahhhh, no way do I get to be home with them and witness all these little joys in their daily interactions with each other. So I should probably mention too though, that we don't worry about Jack not being entirely all boy either - he loves to rough house & wrestle, he loves jumping (on furniture particularly - ugh!), he is obsessed with cars and anyone who's been around him would attest to that. He's almost always carrying one in hand no matter where we go! He loves to play outside, loves trucks and likes being the tough, big brother he is. Really, he's just such a fun little guy and not to be too cheesy here to take the words of his Nana, "... a little treasure." He's a mix of so much more than words could tell. We sure adore and love our kiddos like crazy!! Here are some of his domestic pics and a quick video of Jack cracking Maggie up with something as silly as throwing a diaper in the air!

Rhett loves to play with the toy kitchen at his school. I think Jack's future wife will be thankful that his sensitive side was nurtured... and who doesn't love a man who can cook, right? The video of Jack making Maggie laugh was too funny!
