The subject title to this post pretty much sums up the past few weeks in the Boggs' household. For starters, it was awesome, awesome, awesome to have my brother, Brian, home on military leave for a week. Sure loved getting to spend time with him - and really enjoyed watching the kids interract with their Uncle Beege. :) My Dad also celebrated his birthday last week with us-- which was fun & included stellar ice-cream cake of course :), and we just celebrated Maggie's 2nd birthday last night by having a low-key dinner at home with both sets of grandparents. More on that in just a sec. Life feels like it has been sooooo insanely busy/crazy, and yet really, God has been so faithful to us through it all. I sometimes wonder how on earth we could get through some of the challenges of life without Him at the center and dousing us with grace - we certainly have needed it! :)
If you didn't know, we sold our house on Latawah - praise God! :) What a fantastic house that was, and a great place for memories in these early years as parents, but it is going to be a great home now for the new owners. We should be all signed today or tomorrow. (Buyers already signed last Friday, so we're just waiting to get worked in.)
We began house hunting as we continued to wait on the short sale home we'd made an offer on months back. It is no exaggeration to say God literally dropped the most perfect home for us, directly in our laps, unexpectedly, at the most opportune timing. (Mind you - we were getting major stressed and lacking faith to trust God would find us a good home in our budget, in a great neighborhood, with equity-potential, and yet was also not a huge project like the last house.) Suffice it to say, the home we are currently signed-around on & waiting to close on the end of the month, is nothing shy of perfectly hand-picked by Him!!! To put it in a dear friend's ideal wording, "It's like He found us a home that is totally matched with our skill set." So, we are purchasing a home from one of my ol' co-workers that is about 90% complete, and we just need to go in there & finish 'er up! :) We cannot wait to roll up our sleeves and make that our new home. It flat out rocks, and is surprisingly more contemporary-styled than our traditional "old homes with character" preference. Yet we both walked in, immediately fell in love & just knew, that was the one! (Any of you know that feeling?) :) So, more on that with pics later this month...
Up to the most important/fun thing to share --- our dearest little daughter is TWO!!! Wow does that time ever fly by. Let me just tell ya, she has such an adorable, spunky, funny, social, affectionate, playful personality with some of the cutest little features. I know, I'm biased as her Mom, but really, she is just tons of fun & such a little joy baby! Having been so busy, we didn't even try to plan a party for her - we instead, opted for a low-key dinner at home that turned out to be such a blast & perfect. She loves clothes (all girl or what?) :),and has a number of new outfits she is already thrilled to be trying on & wearing. Grandma & Papa also got her a cool slip n' slide for these hot summer days --- Jack is equally pumped about that. haha. Man do I love these kids!
We are finally all moved and adjusting to life living in my parents' basement. They are wonderful to let us stay here, though it is nice to have light at the end of the tunnel and I think it fair to say, my folks probably feel the same. hahahaha.
Any of you with toddlers know how much they change the pace/volume/organization/cleanliness of a home despite best efforts to maintain order.
I'll end there before this gets too long and post some pics of the birthday girl next. Thanks for your sweet comments & hanging with us in patience for a new update. Love to you all!
